한국프로야구 팬이라면 이 정도의 정보에도 바로 양현종(32)을 떠올린다.

"KBO리그에서 가장 인상적인 투수"라는 질문에 대한 답이면 더 확실해진다.

LG 트윈스 우투좌타 1루수 로베르토 라모스(26)는 8일 서울시 잠실구장에서 '2주간의 자가 격리'를 마친 뒤, 처음 취재진 앞에 섰다.

라모스는 "숙소 밖을 나가지 못해 답답했지만, 실내 훈련을 충실하게 했다. 또한, 전력분석팀에서 KBO리그 투수들에 관한 좋은 자료를 만들어줘 야구 공부를 했다"고 밝혔다.

취재진은 그에게 "가장 인상적인 투수가 누구인가"라고 물었다.

라모스는 "이름은 기억하지 못한다. 고글을 쓴 KIA 왼손 투수"라고 답했다. 통역은 물론이고, 취재진도 라모스가 말하는 인상적인 투수가 양현종이라는 걸 알았다.

이미 LG 전력분석팀은 라모스에게 양현종을 '최정상급 투수'라고 소개했다. 당연히 라모스는 더 주의 깊게 양현종의 영상 자료를 봤다.

라모스는 "좋은 투수라는 말을 들은 상태였다. 전체적으로 완벽한 투수라고 생각한다"고 말했다.

테일러 모터(31·키움 히어로즈)도 1일 취재진과의 '화상 인터뷰'에서 "좌완에 고글을 쓴 투수가 인상적이었다. 공이 워낙 좋아서 기억하고 있다"고 말했다.

실제로 양현종은 KBO리그 최고 투수로 꼽힌다.

양현종은 지난해 16승 8패 평균자책점 2.29로 활약했다. 평균자책점 부문에서는 1위를 차지했다.

2014년부터 2019년까지 매 시즌 170이닝 이상을 던질 정도로 자기 관리에 철저하다.
