KBL도 시즌 조기종료 결정..SK-DB 공동1위

남자 프로농구도 코로나19 사태로 인해 시즌을 조기 종료하기로 했다.
한국농구연맹(KBL)은 24일 오전 8시 각 구단 단장들이 모인 가운데 이사회를 열고 오는 29일자로 2019∼2020 현대모비스 프로농구 시즌을 조기 종료하기로 결정했다.
이날 이사회에서는 앞서 WKBL과 KOVO가 시즌 조기 종료를 결정한 데다, 최근 코로나 사태로 인한 사회적 분위기를 감안한 탓인지 시즌 종료에 별다른 논란은 없었던것으로 알려졌다.
조기 종료를 하더라도 시즌 자체를 무효화하지는 않기로 했다. 시즌 무효에 대한 논의는 있었지만 선수들의 기록을 존중해야 한다는 의견이 힘을 얻었기 때문이다.
이로 인해 팀 순위는 일단 가려졌다 팀당 11∼12경기 남은 시점에서 시즌 조기 종료를 함에 따라 승률로 순위를 산정했다. 팀간 승패, 득실차 등은 따지지 않았다.
이에 따라 각각 43경기를 치르고 승률 0.651(28승15패)을 기록한 서울 SK와 원주 DB가 공동 1위를 차지했다.
어땠든 2019∼2020시즌 정규리그 순위가 결정됨에 따라 신인 드래프트도 종전 방식대로 치르고, 자유계약(FA) 협상 작업 일정 등은 4월 초 추가 논의할 예정이다.
한편 KBL은 정규리그와 챔피언결정전 상금은 각 구단에 배분하기로 했다. 시즌 중단으로 인해 수입이 사라지는 바람에 커다란 고통을 받고 있는 이벤트 기획사 등 구단 별 영세 협력사들을 돕는데 사용한다.
