'어이, 브라더~' 2020 K리그, 형제 K리거는 누구?

[인터풋볼] 윤효용 기자=형제는 닮는다. 유전적인 영향으로 외모가 닮거나 자라온 환경으로 성격, 취향 등이 비슷할 때도 있다. 때문에 형제끼리 같은 직업을 선택하는 경우가 흔치는 않더라도 종종 볼 수는 있다. 축구도 예외는 아니다. 여기 `축구DNA`를 갖고 K리그에서 뛰는 형제들이 있다. 2020시즌 K리그에서 새로운 이야기를 써 내려갈 형제들을 소개한다.

전북 이범영과 강원 이범수는 골키퍼 형제다. 형제가 K리그에서 뛰는 것도 쉽지 않지만 포지션이 같은 것 또한 드문 일이다. 동생보다 먼저 이름을 알린 형 이범영은 2008년 부산에서 프로무대에 데뷔, 2012 런던 올림픽 동메달, 2014 브라질 월드컵, 2015 동아시안컵 우승 등 K리그와 대표팀을 오가며 탄탄히 경력을 쌓았다. 동생 이범수는 2010년 전북에서 프로에 데뷔했으나 쟁쟁한 선배들에 밀려 이렇다 할 기회를 받지 못했고 서울 이랜드, 대전 등을 거친 뒤 마침내 경남에서 빛을 보기 시작했다. 2017년 경남 주전 골키퍼로서 팀의 승격 일등공신으로 활약한 이범수는 그 해 K리그2 베스트일레븐에 뽑힌 바 있다.

한편 여태껏 한 번도 성사되지 않던 두 형제의 맞대결을 올해는 전북과 강원의 경기에서 볼 수 있을지 기대해본다.

한 팀에서 뛰는 형제도 있다. 바로 전북 홍정남과 홍정호가 그 주인공이다. 형 홍정남은 2007년 전북에 데뷔한 이후로 군복무(상주) 기간을 제외하면 쭉 전북에만 몸담고 있는 원클럽맨이고, 동생 홍정호는 2010년 제주에서 데뷔해 FC 아우크스부르크, 장쑤 쑤닝등을 거쳐 2018년부터 전북에서 뛰고 있다. 두 형제는 전북에서 두 시즌을 같이 보냈지만, K리그에서는 아직 두 선수가 같은 그라운드에서 뛴 적이 없다. 그간 임대 신분으로 전북에 몸담았던 홍정호가 올 시즌을 앞두고 전북으로 완전 이적하며 두 형제의 `한 팀 살림`은 계속된다. 형 홍정남이 골문을 막고, 동생 홍정호가 수비라인을 지키는 모습은 K리그의 새로운 이야깃거리가 될 것이다.

상주 이창근과 안산 이창훈 형제는 한눈에 봐도 형제임을 바로 알 수 있다. 너무도 닮은 두 선수의 외모 때문인데 이목구비도 비슷하고 키도 형 이창근이 186cm, 동생 이창훈이 187cm로 비슷하다. 2018년 형 이창근이 활약중이던 제주유나이티드에 이창훈이 입단하며 주목을 받았지만, 팀의 주전 골키퍼로 활약하던 이창근과 달리 막 신인으로 데뷔한 이창훈은 기회를 잡지 못했다. 2018년 여름 이창훈은 안산으로 이적한 뒤 서서히 경기 출전 수를 늘려갔고, 이후 두 형제 모두 각 팀의 주전급 선수로 활약했다. 올해 상무에 입대한 이창근은 K리그1 상주에서, 이창훈은 K리그2 안산에서 뛴다. 서로 다른 무대에서 몸담고 있지만 두 형제의 K리그에서의 활약은 계속된다.

이동희는 2018년 제주에 입단해 꾸준히 출장 횟수를 늘려나가는 3년차 수비수다. 아직 확고한 주전은 아니지만 기회가 주어졌을 때 제 역할을 톡톡히 해내는 교체 자원으로 활약 중이다. 이동희의 두 살 터울 동생인 이건희는 올해 신인으로 서울 이랜드의 유니폼을 입었다. 이건희는 지난해 대학리그(U리그) 4권역 득점왕 출신으로 올 시즌 주목받는 신인이다.

두 형제는 한양대 재학시절부터 나란히 팀의 주요 선수로 활약하며 같이 경기를 뛰는 일 또한 자주 있었다. 이제 무대를 바꿔서 형과 동생이 프로에서 그려나가는 꿈은 어떤 모습일까. 이번 시즌 K리그2에서 만나는 두 형제의 맞대결이 기대되는 이유다.

이 밖에도 한 팀에서 코칭스탭으로 만나는 형제도 있다. 형 남궁도는 U-15 감독으로, 동생 남궁웅은 프로 코치로 올해 성남에서 한솥밥을 먹는다. 또한 올해 경남의 주장을 맡게된 하성민은 지난해 은퇴한 형 하대성의 등번호인 16번을 달며 각별한 형제애를 드러냈다.
